Applying your company domain to events hosted via EventHub can help unify branding and create a sense of security for your users.
Custom domains are an add-on service. Contact your customer success manager or our chat support by clicking the icon at the bottom right of the page for details.
<tips>Changing the event domain after registration starts will prevent registrants from accessing the event page via any URLs generated before the change. Ensure custom domain setup is complete before opening registration for your event. Please plan to ensure enough time to complete the custom domain setup.</tips>
1. What are Custom Domains?
Events with EventHub are hosted via a [https://event.eventhub.jp/...] URL; however, implementing a custom domain will host events via a [https://event.custom_domain/...] subdomain URL instead.
Additionally, emails sent from the EventHub platform are by default sent from the [no-reply@eventhub.jp] email address, but implementing a custom domain can instead send the emails from a [no-reply@custom_domain] address.
2. Benefits of Setting up a Custom Domain
Improved Event Branding
Include your company or event name in the domain to strengthen your brand image for your participants.
Increased Trust
Set a custom domain so registrants can quickly confirm the event website and know they are in the right place for registration, surveys, etc.
Familiar Email Addresses
When emails are sent from the EventHub platform using a custom domain, participants are more likely to recognize and open them. This also helps ensure the emails successfully pass any security checks on the recipient's end.
3. Domains and Certifications
To set up a custom domain, you must first register it via a domain registration service. EventHub supports domains in addition to [.com], including [.sg], [.jp], etc.
EventHub will issue an SSL certificate to ensure the security of the published site. The certificate type is DV; EV certificates are not issued.
<attention>You cannot use domains already in use with other EventHub event organizers, including those at your same company. Please obtain a new domain or subdomain for setup.</attention>
4. Setup Steps
① Once you have prepared a domain via a domain registration service, reach out to your customer success manager with the following information:
- Custom domain (e.g., eventhub.com)
- Domain setup deadline
<attention>Please note that domains cannot be changed or deleted once configured.</attention>
② EventHub will begin the implementation according to the information provided. Once completed, EventHub will provide you with an NS record to add to the registration service from which you obtained the domain.
Please let your custom success manager know once you have added the NS record to the domain service. EventHub will then configure the secondary setup, reaching out again once finished.
*The NS record settings may take several hours to take effect. We recommend completing the settings well before opening your event.
③ Once you receive word that the secondary setup has finished, navigate to the EventHub management page's [Settings]>[Custom domain] tab and click the added domain.
④ Click [Edit] and select which events to apply the domain to. Click [Save] when finished.
<tips>You can connect one domain to multiple events; you cannot connect multiple domains to the same event.</tips>
⑤ Confirm the updated custom domain for an event by navigating to its [Basic settings]>[Event information]>[Login URL] field.
⑥ Be sure to confirm the following points after completing the setup for a custom domain:
- Event pages correctly display the custom domain
- Emails sent from the EventHub platform contain the custom domain
5. Custom Domain Application
Custom domains apply to the following locations:
Page URLs | Registration forms |
Login page | |
Password setup page | |
Password reset page | |
All event pages (including booth pages and surveys)
[%%LOGIN_LINK%%], [%%PASSWORD_SETUP_LINK%%], [%%MY_PASS_LINK%%] links inserted into emails
The URL generated via Marketo integration
Email Addresses | [Automated emails] |
New emails sent via [Send email] |
<tips>The event management (admin) pages, exhibitor admin page, and global user emails are unaffected by custom domains.</tips>
6. Domain Permissions
If you must whitelist domains for network security purposes, ensure the following custom domains are included:
- event.custom_domain
- client.custom_domain
- client-api.custom_domain
7. Additional Notes
- Changing the event domain after registration starts will prevent registrants from accessing the event page via any URLs generated before the change. Ensure custom domain setup is complete before opening registration for your event.
- Custom domain setup takes time; please plan ahead to ensure enough time to complete the setup.
- Domains cannot be changed or deleted once configured.
- Videos uploaded to booths before implementing a custom domain will become unavailable to watch after the new custom domain is assigned. Upload booth videos after the custom domain setup is complete.
