Event organizers can use the event page's [Notifications] panel to recommend user profiles for participants to view.
1. How to Send a Recommendation
Navigate to the [Announcements]>[Create New] tab. Select "Recommendation" for the [Type of Announcement], and enter your text into the [Message] field.
Enter the email address of a registered user into the [Recommended Profiles] field and click [Add].
The recommended user profiles are displayed below the [Recommended Profiles] field. Drag and drop users to rearrange them.
Select a [Send to...] option to specify which participants can see the announcement on the event page. The table below provides further details.

Select from the [Settings] to send the announcement immediately or schedule it to be sent later.
Click [Done] when finished.
2. Additional Notes
- You must enable event networking to send recommendations. If the [Basic settings]>[Event information]>[Networking]>[Set Date and Time to Activate Networking Mode] setting is set to a future date, recommendations will be available once the networking mode becomes active.
- Users cannot see recommended users who are in a content group for which they do not have viewing access.
- Recommendations do not send users email notifications.
- Recommended users cannot edit the announcement information.
- The "Recommended users email is not registered" error message appears in the following circumstances when you click the [Add] button:
- The [Recommended Profiles] field is empty
- Something besides an email address was entered
- The user's email address is not registered in the event
- The user's "Email Status" in the [User List] is "Bounced"
- The user has set their [Networking mode] to "OFF" via the event page
