Schedule a pop-up reminder to display on the event page to increase survey response rates. Customize the pop-up timing to match your video streams and event needs.
1. Pop-up Reminders with Fixed Timing
① From the event management page's [Survey]>[Survey list] tab, click the edit icon of the survey for which you want to set the pop-up reminder.
② Click [Edit].
③ Set the [Pop-up reminder] field to [On], and enter an optional message.
④ Set the date and time that you want the pop-up to appear on the event page. Click [OK] when finished.
*If you enable the survey's [Set an availability timeframe] field, you must set the pop-up reminder date/time to be at least 5 minutes after the start time and before the end time of the availability timeframe.
<tips>Use the [Limit pop-up to a specific video stream (optional)] field to display the pop-up reminder on a specific video channel on the event page's [Stage]. Only participants viewing the applicable video stream on the event page will get the pop-up reminder. Setting the field to [No] will enable the survey pop-up on all event pages.
You must set the [Pop-up timing] to [Fixed] to specify a date and time. See the following section for relative pop-up timing.</tips>
The pop-up reminder will appear on the event page at the designated time. Click the [Open survey] button to open the survey in a new browser window.
2. Pop-up Reminders with Relative Timing
Follow steps ① through ③ outlined in the section above.
Set the [Limit pop-up to a specific video stream (optional)] field to [Yes], and select a video stream from the dropdown menu.
Set the [Pop-up timing] to [Relative] and enter a number from 1 to 999. The pop-up will display after a user watches the video stream for the designated number of minutes.
Click [OK] when finished.
3. Additional Notes
Pop-up reminder display
- Click the X in the corner of the pop-up to close a reminder. That survey reminder will not appear again.
- *Refreshing the event page will reset a user's watch time to zero, thus recalculating the time for the pop-up reminder's relative timing. Navigating to a different tab on the event page while the mini player feature is turned off will have the same effect when the user returns to the video stream.
- Reminders do not appear for users who log in to the event page after the scheduled pop-up time.
- Pop-up reminders disappear upon refreshing the event page's browser.
- A logged-in user must refresh their browser to view any new or updated pop-up reminders.
- The survey pop-up reminder feature is not compatible with the mobile version of the event page.
- Survey pop-ups do not appear over a video stream if users watch full screen. Pop-up reminders become visible upon exiting full screen.
- A pop-up with relative timing will only display if the timing falls within the survey's availability timeframe.
- A pop-up with relative timing will still display if the video stream ends. For example, if a pop-up is set to appear 10 minutes after a user starts watching, but the user starts watching when there are only five minutes left in the stream, the pop-up will still display at the relative time (five minutes after the stream ends) as long as the user can still access the event page.
Setting simultaneous reminders
- Setting multiple pop-up reminders to appear at the same time causes them to overlap. Users must close each one to view the others.
- If multiple pop-up reminders are set simultaneously but linked to different video streams, each reminder will only appear on its specified stream. In the example outlined by the table below, the two surveys will not overlap each over; they will appear only on the applicable target video stream.
Survey Pop-up Reminder Date/Time Target Video Survey 1 2024/06/04 16:00 Video A Survey 2 2024/06/04 16:00 Video B
Other
- You can set a pop-up reminder when creating a new survey or editing an existing one.
