This page addresses a few common questions and requirements for video streaming on the EventHub platform.
Potential Questions Regarding Video Streaming:
- Why is the video stream quality so low?
- Why is the audio choppy?
- Why does the video keep buffering?
Solutions to the Above Include the Following:
- If a video is playing in low quality, it may be due to insufficient internet speed (bandwidth). To stream at the minimum playback quality (240p), a stable bandwidth of at least 500 Kbps is required. Ensure your network has the appropriate amount of bandwidth to stream the video.
- Choppy audio can occur when a video cannot effectively process high-quality video data. Try streaming the video in lower quality.
- Video buffering can happen when multiple tabs are running while streaming a video. Close unused browser windows or apps to free up processing power before streaming video.
Required Bandwidth and Operating Systems
Ensure you have the latest web browser version, an updated operating system, and a good internet connection. Especially for live streams, you will need a fast connection and high processing power.
The table below lists the recommended bandwidth needed to view videos at a given resolution:
Video Quality | Necessary Bandwidth |
4K or greater | 22 Mbps |
2K | 12 Mbps |
1080p | 7 Mbps |
720p | 3 Mbps |
360p | 1 Mbps |
240p | 500 Kbps |
The table below lists the recommended devices and browsers for the EventHub platform.
Supported Mobile OS | Android version 6+, iOS version 13+ |
