The event management page's [Analytics]>[Session Analysis] tab displays viewership data for each session that has a connected video channel.
1. Session Viewership Data
You can only view data in the [Session Analysis] tab for sessions that are connected to a video channel via [Contents]>[Sessions]>[Connect Video Channel].
Use the dropdown menu at the top right of the [Analytics]>[Session Analysis] tab to select which session's data to display. Sessions not connected to a video channel will not appear in the dropdown list.
2. Analysis Details
The following table outlines the fields on the [Session Analysis] tab.
Field | Description |
Date | The date of the session, set in [Contents]>[Sessions] |
Start time | The time the session starts, set in [Contents]>[Sessions] |
End time | The time the session ends, set in [Contents]>[Sessions] |
Participants | The total count of unique users who viewed the session between the start and end times If a user stops watching a session but rejoins later, they are still only counted as one viewer. *You cannot filter by user types, such as exhibitors or staff members. |
Average viewing time | The average of each participant's total viewing time *Each participant's viewing time is calculated in 3-minute increments, as explained below. |
Participants by time | A graph of the number of viewers during each calculated 3-minute segment |
The EventHub platform calculates viewing time in 3-minute increments.
- A user who views a session during any 3-minute segment will be counted in the [Participants] field.
- A user will be counted in the [Participants by time] graph during each 3-minute segment they watch. The following table outlines an example of how a user's viewership is calculated in the graph for an event starting at 10:00.
Minutes Watched | Time Segment | Count as Watched? | Time Segment | Count as Watched? |
0:00 | 10:00 | No | 10:03 | No |
0:01 ~ 2:59 | 10:00 | Yes | 10:03 | No |
3:00 ~ | 10:00 | Yes | 10:03 | Yes |
3. Additional Notes
- Deleting a video stream channel via [Contents]>[Video Streaming] will also delete all collected data for any sessions connected to that video channel.
- The [Session Analysis] tab cannot display data for sessions longer than ten hours; the message below is displayed instead. Shorten the session to ten hours or less to view the data for that time frame.
- You can see data on which participants viewed a video stream channel via [Contents]>[Video Streaming]>[Download Viewership Data]. You can access this report regardless of whether the video channel is linked to a session.
- The EventHub platform's method to count video views may differ from the platforms used to host the video stream channel content (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, etc.), thus resulting in discrepancies between total view counts.
- A participant's session viewership is not counted in the following circumstances:
-
- The user's device enters sleep mode.
- Depending on the user's browser, they switch to another tab, pausing the session video.
- The user navigates away from the event page's [Stage] tab and pauses or closes the mini player.
- The user navigates away from the event page's [Stage] tab while the mini player is set to "Off" via [Contents]>[Video Streaming]>[Mini Player].
